Autrefois, il donnait la vie. Maintenant, le soleil a transformé la terre entière en un désert aride et sans vie de son impitoyable rayonnement. Seul celui qui se protège de son aveuglante lumière a une chance de survivre. C’est le cas de Marie qui fait route vers les montagnes avec sa petite soeur Léonie et Philippe dans une voiture obscurcie pour protéger du rayonnement : là-bas, il devrait y avoir de l’eau ! Sur le chemin, elles ramassent Tom, qui se révèle un parfait mécanicien et bientôt indispensable. Peut-on cependant lui faire confiance ? La tension monte dans le petit groupe. Les quatre voyageurs seront ensuite attirés dans une embuscade, commence alors le combat pour la survie.
